Digital products are a great option to sell on Etsy. Here is an easy and free way to create a downloadable pdf for Etsy on Canva.
If you’ve never used Canva before, it is an online app that is very easy to use to design different file types, including PDFs. It comes with a paid version with more premium graphics as well as a free version. The free version is definitely enough to start out with if you’re not looking to spend any money.
Creating A Downloadable PDF In Canva
- Go To Create Design in the top right corner.
- Type in “A4 Document” and select it.
- Create a design from scratch or select from a template and modify it.
4. Once you’re done designing, click the “share” button in the top right corner. Then click “Download”.
5. For file type, select PDF Standard.
6. Then click the Download button and your file will download to your computer!
Additional Tips
Etsy has a file size limit of 20MB which is why you should download it as PDF Standard and not the PDF Print version. If you download the file and it is still too large, you can use a file compressor to decrease the file size.
Adobe has a file compressor and PDFCompressor is another free option to do this.
NOTE: Some browsers don’t work well with compressed PDF files. Chrome seems to do okay with them, but sometimes adobe reader scrambles the PDF. You may want to note this in your listing description for troubleshooting for your customers!
